Greenpeace München rief uns an, ob wir zur MAKE-SMTHNG-Week etwas gemeinsames machen wollen. „Woran habt ihr denn gedacht?“ „Wir wollen die größte Kleidertauschparty Bayern machen.“ „In Würzburg? Na klar!“
Die MAKE-SMTHNG-Week ist eine Gegenaktion zum Black Friday:
Während dort der Konsumrausch im Vordergrund steht, geht es bei Greenpeace um den Aus-Tausch, um das Zusammenkommen und Miteinander. Wir reparieren Gegenstände und teilen Wissen und Erfahrungen.
Und genau das haben wir bei der Kleidertauschparty in Kooperation mit der Agenda21 in der Umweltstation der Stadt Würzburg erreicht: Rund 400 Besucher:innen kamen zusammen, tauschten ihre Kleidungsstücke und manchmal auch Erinnerungen aus. Dazu gab es eine Siebdruckstation, wo Oberteile oder Taschen gleich mit Motiven zu Nachhaltigkeit und Umweltschutz bedruckt werden konnten – der Kreativität waren keine Grenzen gesetzt und manch neues Schmuckstück wurde kreiert.
Außerdem gab es ein Nähcafé mit Näherinnen aus dem „Fingerhut“: An mehreren Maschinen konnten Gäste Kleidungsstücke umnähen, reparieren oder kürzen. Oder einfach mal eine Nähmaschine ausprobieren und die Scheu vor ihnen verlieren.
Die Umweltstation der Stadt Würzburg, voll mit Stangen voll Kleidungsstücken und
Garderobenständer sah wundervoll aus und entsprechend gut war die Stimmung. Einige Besucher:innen waren das erste mal bei einer Kleidertauschparty und viele fragten, wann die nächste stattfindet.
Wir danken allen Besucher:innen, der Umweltstation, Agenda21 und Hermine für die
Zusammenarbeit, den Näherinnen aus dem Fingerhut für das Nähcafé und allen Unterstützer:innen für Kleiderstangen, -ständer, -bügel und Spiegel, ganz besonders dem Zukunftshaus, dem TheaterEnsemble, Mainglück und Galeria Kaufhof.
Die restlichen Kleidungsstücke wurden an Hermine e.V. gespendet, die diese an Flüchtende und Geflüchtete Menschen in und aus verschiedenen Ländern weitergibt.

Greenpeace Munich called us to see if we wanted to do something together for MAKE-SMTHNG Week. "What did you have in mind?" "We want to do the biggest clothes swap party in Bavaria." "In Würzburg? Of course!"
MAKE-SMTHNG-Week is a counter-action to Black Friday:
While the focus there is on the consumer frenzy, Greenpeace is all about swapping, coming together and being with each other. We repair objects and share knowledge and experience.
And that's exactly what we achieved at the clothes swap party in cooperation with Agenda21 at the environmental station of the city of Würzburg: Around 400 visitors came together, exchanged their clothes and sometimes even memories. There was also a screen-printing station where tops or bags could be printed with motifs on sustainability and environmental protection - there were no limits to creativity and many a new piece of jewelry was created.
There was also a sewing café with seamstresses from the "Fingerhut": Guests were able to resew, repair or shorten items of clothing on several machines. Or simply try out a sewing machine and lose their shyness.
The environmental station of the city of Würzburg, full of poles full of garments and
coat racks looked wonderful and the mood was correspondingly good. Some visitors were at a clothing exchange party for the first time and many asked when the next one would take place.

The remaining clothes were donated to Hermine e.V., which gives them to refugees and refugee people in and from different countries.
