Es ist die Geschichte einer 210 Jahre alten Eiche. Eine Geschichte, die ganz ohne Worte erzählt wird, und trotzdem eine Poesie enthält, wie ein Kunstwerk.
Ein Kunstwerk, dass man heute immer seltener findet. Im 19. Jahrhundert wurden für die Schweinezucht viele Eichen gepflanzt, doch von diesen sind heute nur noch wenige übrig.
Doch es gibt sie noch. Und wer nicht das Glück hat, eine solche Eiche besichtigen zu können, oder mehr über sie und ihre Bewohner lernen möchte, der kann das jetzt bei einem 110-Minuten-Film im Kino tun.
So wie wir, die wir am 5.3 zur Premiere des Film „Die Eiche – mein Zuhause“ im Centralkino zu Besuch waren – zusammen mit dem Bergwaldprojekt.
Stephen Wehner, Vorstand des Vereins, sagte zu Beginn einige Worte zur Biodiversität und deren alarmierenden Verlust, den wir aktuell erleben: 1 Millionen Tierarten sind vor dem Aussterben bedroht. Das ist jede 8. Tierart. Tiere, die wir zum Teil noch nicht kennen, und die von Umweltzerstörung und Klimaerhitzung vernichtet werden. Bereits jetzt haben wir die planetare Grenze des Biodiversitätsverlustes überschritten. Wir sind bereits im sechsten Massenaussterben der Weltgeschichte, und es wird Millionen Jahre dauern, bis Ökosysteme sich davon zu erholen.
Für uns ist klar, dass eine wichtige Maßnahme im Schutz von Lebensräumen besteht:
Obwohl in Deutschland rund 2/3 der Wälder einen Schutzstatus haben, sind gerade mal 3% vom Einschlag geschützt. Gesunde Wälder, Wiesen und Meere, die geschützt und im besten Falle sich selbst überlassen werden, sind die beste Hilfe im Kampf gegen die Klimakrise und den Verlust von Tier- und Pflanzenarten. Daher setzen wir uns für mehr und bessere Schutzgebiete ein: den besten Schutz bieten Nationalparks (gefolgt von Naturwäldern). Ein solcher im Steigerwald wäre somit eine wichtige Maßnahme und großartige Bereicherung für Natur, Klima und Menschen.
Wer sich selbst von der Schönheit und Kostbarkeit alter Bäume überzeugen will, kann dies nun auch im Kino tun. Der Film läuft seit 5.3 in verschiedenen Kinos. In Würzburg im Central-Kino und im Cineplexx in Dettelbach.

It's the story of a 210 year old oak tree. A story that is told entirely without words, and yet contains a poetry, like a work of art.
A work of art that is increasingly rare to find today. In the 19th century, many oak trees were planted for pig breeding, but only a few of them remain today.
But they still exist. And those who are not lucky enough to be able to visit such an oak tree, or would like to learn more about it and its inhabitants, can now do so during a 110-minute film at the cinema.
Like us, who visited the premiere of the film "The Oak - My Home" at the Centralkino on 5.3 - together with the Mountain Forest Project.
Stephen Wehner, board member of the association, started by saying a few words about biodiversity and the alarming loss we are currently experiencing: 1 million animal species are threatened with extinction. That is every 8th animal species. Animals, some of which we do not know yet, and which are being destroyed by environmental degradation and climate heating. We have already passed the planetary limit of biodiversity loss. We are already in the sixth mass extinction in world history, and it will take millions of years for ecosystems to recover.
For us it is clear that an important measure is the protection of habitats.
Although in Germany about 2/3 of the forests have a protection status, only 3% are protected from logging. Healthy forests, meadows and seas, protected and in the best case left to themselves, are the best help in the fight against the climate crisis and the loss of animal and plant species. Therefore, we advocate for more and better protected areas: the best protection is offered by national parks (followed by natural forests). Such a one in the Steigerwald would therefore be an important measure and great enrichment for nature, climate and people.
Who wants to convince itself of the beauty and preciousness of old trees, can do this now also in the cinema. The film runs since 5.3 in different cinemas. In Würzburg at the Central-Kino and at the Cineplexx in Dettelbach.
