Seit drei Jahren streiken schon die Fridays for Future-Gruppe für Klimaschutz. Und auch heute wieder, zum elften globalen Klimastreik (ein halbes Jahr seit der letzten Demonstration) sind wir wieder mit vertreten. Mit uns 1.500 weitere Menschen aus verschiedenen Gruppen: ARIWA, Parents und Omis for future, Scientists und Psychologists for future, letzte Generation und viele weitere Jugend- und Umweltgruppen, die sich heute um 13:00 am Hauptbahnhof trafen um gemeinsam durch die Stadt zu ziehen. Auf den Lippen bekannten Slogans:
Wir sind hier, wir sind laut,
weil man uns die Zukunft klaut!
Obwohl es turbulente drei Jahre waren hat sich für den Klimaschutz wenig getan: Noch immer laufen Kohlekraftwerke, eine wirkliche Verkehrswende ist nicht in Sicht und Wälder werden weiterhin für Autobahnen gerodet.
Sprüche wie „Kurzstreckenflüge nur für Insekten“ sind weiterhin aktuell und vermischen sich mit Forderungen nach dem 9€-Ticket. Auch wenn unser Ziel nach Klimaneutralität und 1,5° noch immer nach unerreichbarer Zukunftsutopie klingt, geben wir nicht auf sondern demonstrieren weiter.
Denn die Alternative ist ein Klimakollaps. Dürresommer, der niedrige Wasserspiegel oder ein Blick nach Pakistan erinnern immer wieder daran, was uns erwartet.Und deshalb demonstrieren wir auch nach drei Jahren für eine Zukunft, die uns zusteht.

For three years now, the Fridays for Future group has been striking for climate protection. And again today, for the eleventh global climate strike (half a year since the last demonstration) we are represented. With us 1,500 other people from different groups: ARIWA, Parents and Grannies for future, Scientists and Psychologists for future, Last Generation and many other youth and environmental groups, who met today at 13:00 at the main station to march together through the city. On their lips familiar slogans:
We are here, we are loud,
because they are stealing our future!
Although it has been a turbulent three years, little has been done for climate protection: coal-fired power plants are still running, a real change in transport is not in sight and forests continue to be cleared for motorways.
Slogans like "short-haul flights only for insects" are still topical and are mixed with demands for the 9€ ticket. Even if our goal of climate neutrality and 1.5° still sounds like an unattainable future utopia, we are not giving up but continuing to demonstrate.
Because the alternative is climate collapse. Drought summers, the low water table or a look at Pakistan are constant reminders of what awaits us.
And that is why, even after three years, we are still demonstrating for a future that is rightfully ours.
